The Kissing Bridge

A walk over the bridge.

The West Montrose covered bridge, locally known as the Kissing bridge, was build in 1881, and most likely replaced an older bridge over the Grand River. The roof was added to protect the entirely wooden frame from deterioration by rough weather. The bridge is still functional today, and though on the inside it is a mixture of concrete, steel, wood and asphalt, it lost nothing of its old west look and rural charm.
